Under the resounding theme, "Digital Sovereignty: Building an Agile and Resilient Nation," Dr. Aliyu underscored the escalating sophistication and impact of cyberattacks, from ransomware crippling essential services to threats against critical infrastructure. He passionately declared that the time for reactive measures alone is over; Nigeria must now proactively fortify its digital frontiers.

"The digital world we rely on for communication, commerce, governance, and daily life is under constant threat," Dr. Aliyu stated, painting a stark picture of the challenges. Intensive training and development of a robust pipeline of cybersecurity experts capable of effectively managing and defending these critical infrastructures. Recognizing the global shortage of skilled professionals, Nigeria must cultivate its own talent pool.


Aggressive, nationwide cybersecurity advocacy campaigns, achieved through strategic partnerships with professional bodies like the Nigeria Computer Society.
